In vivo pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD)
Characterizing the relationship between the pharmacokinetics (PK, concentration vs. time) and pharmacodynamics (PD, effect vs. time) is an important tool in the discovery and development of new drugs.
The purpose of these studies is to provide a quantitative analysis of the dose-response relationships, describe the time-course effects, and determine efficacious dosing regimens.
