Dr. Caroline Heap, Senior Scientist, Scientific Affairs

Dr. Caroline Heap has 20 years of experience in the field of vaccines and CMC. She is an expert in virology assays, in particular cell-based and potency assays. Her primary focus is in vaccines and gene therapies.

As a senior scientist on the Scientific Affairs team for Labcorp Biopharmaceutical CMC Services, Caroline has a global role in working with clients to design and develop their CMC strategy. She provides scientific and technical guidance in virology across Clinical Trial Testing Solutions within Labcorp. She also focuses on innovation within the CMC department and develops assays for vaccine and gene therapy products.

Caroline obtained her PhD from the University of Warwick, working on a viral vector vaccine for HIV. Prior to moving to Labcorp, she worked at the Health Protection Agency at Porton Down working on the inactivation of viruses.
