Histological bone/joint preparations
Analysis of small and large model bone/joint preparations is an important diagnostic tool.
A range of decalcifying fluids are used in combination with varying amounts of time to retain the detailed cellular structure whilst ensuring the tissue is soft enough to process and achieve the optimal presentation.
Due to the size and density of the large model bone/joint samples, a combination of these specialist technical skills and precision equipment are often used (e.g., a precision saw that uses a diamond blade with laser accuracy that ensures the consistency of the levels in combination with a constant water washing system to enhance the quality of the sample).
