Behavioral sensitization (hyperactivity)
Behavioral sensitization is the process by which repeat exposure to drugs of abuse can induce a progressively greater and enduring motor-stimulant response.
Characterized by an increase in locomotor and/or stereotypic behavior, the effect can persist many months after the last drug administration, and mimics long-term sensitivity and drug abuse.
