The OECD 223: Avian Acute Oral Toxicity Test assesses the toxic potential of a chemical when administered orally to birds. Limit dose tests, LD50-slope tests and LD50-only tests are available depending on one's needs. Tests are performed in 3 or 4 stages, with 24 or 34 test birds and a control group.
